FRANCESCO COLLAVINO was born in Udine in 1987.

In 2006 he graduated in Photography Film and Television at the Art School in Udine. In 2007 he won a place on the course for student actors at the Nico Pepe Academy for the Dramatic Arts. In 2011 he achieved the Diplôme d’Etudes Chorégraphiques and the Prix all’unanimità at the Paris Conservatory in Contemporary Dance, concluding his professional training the following year.

In 2012 he founded Ba.Bau.Corp. www.babaucorp.com

Over the years he has trained with Hofesh Shechter Company, Ultima Vez, Jasmin Vardimon Company, Iztok Kovač, Carolyn Carlson, Peeping Tom, Christine Gouzelis, Mate Meszaros, Germán Jauregui, and Rakesh Sukesh. Among others, he has collaborated with Iris Erez, Arkadi Zaides, Abbondanza/Bertoni, Bruce Myers and with Giovanni di Cicco at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa

In 2017 he was selected as resident choreographer at Workspace Ricerca X at the Lavanderie a Vapore in Turin with “Catastrofe”, this project was supported by CSS Teatro stabile di innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia and by KOMM TANZ of Compagnia Abbondanza / Bertoni. He was the winner of MOVIN’UP SPETTACOLO 2017 – PERFORMING ARTS and was invited to the Carreau du Temple in Paris, and in October 2018 to the Fragment Festival. In December he debuted with his national premiere at Teatro Contatto in Udine

Last year he presented the first part of “JEI”: a contemporary dance performance for 5 basketball players, as part of the project Dialoghi / performing arts residency project at Villa Manin, curated by CSS.
